Mr. Hemmer then taught at a Catholic high school for two years, where he was the
head wrestling and assistant football coach.
Military Service
Mr. Hemmer joined the Navy in March 1980.
He served on the USS Dubuque in the main propulsion officer. He also served on
the USS St. Lois as the chief engineer and on the USS MT Hood as the executive officer.
In Addition, Mr. Hemmer was part of the Commander Surface Squadron One
as the material Commander, and he
was also in the Naval Liason Office in Brazil.
He retired as a Commanding Officer in February 1997.
Today
After he retired, Mr. Hemmer was the principal at St. Clair Co. Alternative School.
We are now proud to have him as part of our staff as one of the Physical Education teachers.
