Education
Mr. Whitaker grew up in Tuskegee Institute, AL and graduated from Tuskegee Instute High in 1961.
He graduated from Hampton University, Hampton, VA in 1966 with a B.S. in biology and a
minor in chemistry.
His master's degree was earned from Ball State University in 1970
and his Ed.S. was from the same school in 1980. Ball state university is located in Muncie, IN.
Military Service
Mr. Whitaker joined the army reserves when he was a senior in high school.
He went on active duty for six months, when he graduated from high school.
He was a medic in the army reserves for 5 years. He served in the army reserves
from 1961-1970.
Today
After graduating from college, Mr. Whitaker taught biology in the Gary,IN public schools.
During his tenure in the Gary schools, he obtained a M.S. degree in biology.
Mr. Whitaker came to DODDS (DODEA) in 1972 and taught biology at Frankfurt high school.
In 1972, he returned to the states to pursue a Ed's in school supervision and Admistration.
He came to our school in 1980 and have been here ever since!
